Body:

As fuel prices continue to rise, trucking companies must find new ways to protect the bottom line and reducing your diesel consumption is an obvious place to start. Though fuel savings wont come for free, you dont have to replace your trucks or sideline drivers to accomplish this goal.

A new green product, Freight Wing Aeroflex trailer side skirts, have shown to reduce fuel consumption by up to 7.35 percent, or approximately 0.3 mile per gallon, in independent testing. Designed to redirect airflow under the trailer, the Aeroflex not only decreases your diesel use but will help your fleet comply with the California Air Resources Board (ARB) emission requirements rolling out over the next couple of years.

One of the nations largest carriers, Washington-based Gordon Trucking, is installing Aeroflex side skirts on 2000 rigs, adding to their 2200 trucks that already carry this new fairing option. With 4200 trucks now outfitted, Gordon Trucking can anticipate saving $2.2 million per year (diesel at $3.80 per gallon) while reducing their annual carbon footprint by almost 7000 tons of CO2.

Talk about saving green by going green.
