Truck Stop Electrification Company Expands, Offers Discounts

Body:

With winter quickly approaching and diesel prices fluctuating, finding a safe, warm place to rest without idling is even more important. Thankfully, the search just got a bit easier and less expensive.

Last August, I wrote about two truck stop electrification (TSE) options that can make moving freight easier, cheaper and more environmentally friendly: Shorepower and IdleAire. At that time, IdleAire, had just reopened four of the TSE sites they were forced to close in January 2010 after a bankruptcy.

Today, the company is now owned by Convoy Solutions, has a new logo and revised spelling of their name IdleAir as opposed to IdleAire revealing that they seem to be embarking on a new TSE chapter. IdleAir currently has 16 open locations, with nine more planned before the end of the year. And they are offering pricing specials through April 30, 2011, including Basic Fleet Service for $1.50 an hour.

As fuel prices change, environmental concerns increase and rest areas continue to close, we at Getloaded will continue to share every opportunity we find to help you save money and decrease emissions while you safely rest on the road.
