LOAD SEARCH

We recently released several updates to the Load Search Results page, which will make the auto-refresh function much more useful and easier to use. Here's what you'll notice:

Fighting Godzilla: Beat the big boys by being a nimble freight carrier

In the world of freight logistics, there are two distinctively different types of trucking operations.

One is the very large behemoth of a trucking machine that seemingly eats every load that’s in its path. Though it’s slow to adjust to changes in the trucking environment, it's very efficient in moving large volumes of freight all at once.

Diesel theft on the rise in the U.S.

It's 1 a.m. Do you know where your diesel is?

Last week, the Centre Daily Times in State College, Penn. reported on a string of diesel fuel thefts at local truck stops.

But these weren't typical pump-and-roll drive-off thefts.  Pennsylvania state police say the diesel fuel was stolen directly from the tanks of parked trucks at a Boggs Township, Penn. truck stop.

Got your ears on?

We’ve all seen the cell phone commercial where an actor is yelling into a phone, “Can you hear me now?”

In trucking, it’s not just being able to hear someone on the other end of a line that’s important—it’s just as important to be listening and understanding what is being communicated.

Deep Fried Diesel?

Soon, you may be topping off your tank with old chicken grease and cow fat.

Though freight companies have heard about biodiesel for several years now, synthetic renewable diesel may become the new hot topic in the trucking fuel industry.

Earlier this year, Dynamic Fuels (a 50/50 venture of Tyson Foods, Inc. and Syntroleum Corporation) announced that it would work with Mansfield Oil Company to start distributing more synthetic renewable diesel to the commercial fleet and freight trucking vehicle markets.

What should you look for in a factoring company?

Factoring is used by carriers all over the world as a way to assist with cash flow for their business. There are many things to consider when looking at factoring your freight bills. What factoring company should I go with? The answer is, "It truly it depends." What are you looking for? What is important to you? What services best fit your needs?

Healthy Trucker = Happy Trucker

Trucker health is a hot topic in the freight hauling industry these days. We all know the trucking industry is the heartbeat of America's economy, but how does working in the industry affect your own heart?

Here's a scary thought: Current statistics show people in over-the-road professions now have an average life expectancy of less than 60 years, according to the Healthy Trucking Association of America (HTAA).

FMCSA issues warning about fraudulent DOT letters

The diesel bears want you to keep your eyes open! A new round of fraudulent U.S. Department of Transportation letters dated March 16, 2012 are starting to circulate among motor carriers.

The letters appear to be from the "U.S. Department of Transportation Procurement Office" and are signed by a fictitious name of "Julie Weynel – Senior Procurement Officer." The letters are attempting to obtain banking information from targeted freight trucking companies.
